Labelmen Presses at DRUPA Run Non-Stop With Martin Automatic
Posted: May 20, 2012
Martin Automatic gave the growing pressure-sensitive label market its first reliable, cost-effective unwind for non-stop production in 1985 with the transformative MB butt splicer. More than 25 years later, Martin continues to introduce more 'firsts' for the global label and package printing community.
The MBSC butt splicer made its European debut at the Labelexpo Europe show in 2011. Visitors to DRUPA saw it running on the new offset press at the Labelmen Machinery Company stand.
Gavin Rittmeyer, Martin's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, remarked: "The MBSC is the most economical narrow web, short- and long-run splicer on the market, combining an affordable price with high performance and offering great value to converters. Labelmen demonstrated the MBSC working with our STR turret rewinder. Together, they deliver extraordinary waste savings, productivity increases, and print quality improvements through non-stop press operation. Significantly, the MBSC splicer and STR turret rewinder at the DRUPA show reflect our international presence and global commitment - under a licensing agreement, Labelmen Machinery Company, based in Taiwan, builds Martin splicers and rewinders to sell with their Labelmen presses worldwide."
Also on the Labelmen stand was a Martin Automatic STS automatic unwind/splicer, complemented by an STR turret rewinder at the delivery end of a CI letterpress. Both of these units were built by Labelmen, under license.
